Sack Lunches
Every Wednesday morning starting at 9am sharp we hand out meal vouchers. Any person in need of a lunch can come to our main entrance on E Street to receive the meal voucher. Our heart in doing this is to feed the hungry as Jesus has called us to do. We make sure to share scripture and God’s love as we hand out each voucher. Volunteers serve by handing out the voucher and being a beacon of God’s love to those we serve every week. Through this program we are also able to support one of our incredible local restaurants here in Ardmore. We believe this ministry honors the call to serve our local community.
Clothes Closet
Our Cude Clothes Closet has been in operation since the 1930’s! This incredible ministry has more stories than time can allow to share through this ministry thousands of people a year are clothed and prepared better to deal with Oklahoma regardless of any situation or circumstances they may be facing. We take seriously the call Jesus gave to clothe those in need. It is our joy and privilege to serve in this way. Through relationships being built there is a real opportunity for discipleship and evangelism whether that be through prayer or conversation with our clients. This incredible time-tested ministry is always looking for people to serve and donate items for our community. The Clothes Closet can be found on F street NW across from our main campus. Hours of operation are Mondays 1pm-3pm and Wednesdays 9am-11am, but donations are accepted through the donation box at all times.
WayMaker Ministry
In 2016, at the request of a believing county jailer, First Methodist Church of Ardmore began ministering in the Carter County Detention Center under the creative name, “Jail Ministry”. Over the years, God has grown his ministry beyond the county jail, to include prisons and rehab/recovery homes in Oklahoma and several surrounding states. In 2020, Covid forced us out of the jail, creating an opportunity for our church to offer Bible study, food, and fellowship twice a week to those being released from jail, completing rehab, or looking for a place to serve. In 2021, this multi-faceted ministry changed its name to the Waymaker Ministry. It continues to thrive under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the obedience of this church family to love and support those who once sat in darkness. Through the Waymaker Ministry, this church has been a light to hundreds of men and women seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ. WayMaker Ministry currently meets on Wednesdays from 5:45-7:00pm and Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:50am in our Waymaker building located on 121 F Street NW.
